Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services contracted RCR Technology in 2014 to provide some new functionality and reporting capabilities to their base software solution to reflect new changes in their treatment approach and new reporting requirements.

CANS is the mandatory uniform assessment instrument required for children and youth served through the Comprehensive Services Act (CSA) in Virginia. CANVaS is an interactive web site that collects assessment information and produces reports. CANVaS contains the electronic version of the CANS Comprehensive and reassessments for ages 0-21.

The scope of the 2.0 Upgrade Project included, modifications of the assessment process workflow, non-database text and label changes, data conversion, database architecture modifications and development of a new and enhanced clinical and performance reporting suite.
